Materials We Use

Timber

We use Accoya as standard on our Signature range of windows and doors because we believe it’s the best material available. We can also create windows and doors in a range of hardwood options as part of our Tailored range.

Glass

Our energy-performance glass comes from the UK’s premium glass manufacturer, System 3, based in Manchester. System 3 is well known for its glass quality, so we wouldn’t trust anyone else’s product in our windows!

Paint

We triple-coat all our windows and doors with Teknos paint before they leave our workshop. Teknos has produced paint in Finland since 1948 and has collaborated with Accoya since 2008, ensuring a perfect combination and long-lasting finish.

Hardware

We offer ranges from UK-based suppliers, Coastal Group in Cornwall and From the Anvil in Wales. From modern to traditional, we have access to a broad range of premium-grade, modern and traditional hardware all with a 10-year guarantee.

Sustainability

In the face of a climate emergency, the need for sustainable, renewable, and fully recyclable building materials has never been more urgent.

That’s why we craft our products from Accoya, a FSC®-certified timber. Accoya is a groundbreaking material - it’s the only construction material worldwide to earn Cradle to Cradle (C2C) Platinum certification® for Material Health and with its low carbon footprint, choosing this type of timber reduces carbon emissions and contributes to a healthier planet.

As a business that is committed to sustainability in every step of our process, we also invested in a biomass boiler heating system which heats our workshop and paint drying booths using our own timber offcuts, rather than gas, to reduce our environmental impact. We take pride in our fully recyclable, hand-crafted products which offer an unparalleled level of sustainability from sourcing of materials to production and delivery.

Efficiency

Energy efficiency has become a top priority when choosing new windows and doors. Whilst uPVC and aluminium are being modified to meet energy performance regulations, timber stands apart as a natural insulator as it boasts low thermal transmittance and retains warmth.

Our Signature product range achieves industry-leading U-values by combining Accoya timber with high-performance, energy-efficient glass. Our double-glazed products deliver a U-value of 1.2 W/m²K, outperforming UK regulations by 15%, and our triple glazed products can be as low as 0.68 W/m²K - an impressive 51% better.
All our U-value testing and declarations adhere to BR442 guidelines and the EN 14351-1 standard, ensuring exceptional energy performance.

Longevity

The cost of wooden products is often higher than uPVC or aluminium alternatives due to the skilled craftsmanship required to create them.
Every mortice and tenon joint, coat of paint, and decorative moulding is crafted to perfection. However the true value of Glyngary windows and doors lies in their longevity. With a life expectancy of over 70 years, they far outlast alternative materials such as uPVC and can be evolved with a simple repaint to look new time and time again.

Our high-performance Accoya doors and windows deliver long-lasting value, timeless appeal, and unmatched durability, providing value from the moment they’re installed.
